The program has been sold to several countries, in the US it premiered on April 26, 2011 on NBC . On May 17 of that year, TV4 announced that they had purchased the Swedish rights to the TV program. In June 2011, TV4 began receiving applications on its website and the program starts in early 2012. The program is divided into three parts and in the last part one should select who of the contestants who have the best voice. In the first part, the player is allowed to make a recording that four song coaches can listen to. Each coach chooses their favorites that form a team. Then the teams compete against each other. The last part consists of live broadcast finals where one goes out every week.
