@bobholst874last yearDr. Biernackie, i have several conditions that have contributed to suffering from dry and wet beri. I am really praying to get off bed rest and get id="hidden13" going again! I am a gastric bypass patient, have had a severe bleed from a perforated ulcer about 6 years ago. After this bleed, my body started putting weight on to the point now i am back to pre bypass weight! We believe my body was triggered into starvation mode. The only thing that interrupted this weight gain was 3 months of keto/20 carbs/day, exercise and fasting 22 hours a day! so now i am healed up from an achilles tear, broken heel (screws and plate repair) and a shattered big toe amputation. Over this past 6 months i had edema and contracted a skin infection which required serious wound care and compression bandaging by nurse clinicians at the hospital. All told i have been off my feet for the better part of 2 years! i am finally getting up and going. With my b1 and b12 defficiency as chronic as it is, i am hitting every angle i can. We did blood tests cbc, fbc and i now take the following supplements: dr. Recommended) b1 500mg - with 100mg magnesium pure - therapro b12 drops 3 types cobalamin (methyl, hydroxo, adenosol) 10iu 2x daily 1mg folic acid - daily 50mg zinc - daily 650mg ferrous sulfate 20, 0iu d3 not dr. Recommended: *benfotiamine 300mg + l leucine 40mg all but the benfotiamine are recommended by my pcp. My biggest problem that i am looking for some hope on is i have ataxia and cannot balance when walking. I use a walker any time i walk more than 50 feet. Do you believe that thiscan overcome the ataxia and muscle instability? How long would you think is reasonable to believe i will feel better. I was sleeping 14 hours a day and any time i got up i would be wiped out tired in as little as 30 minutes! Then my muscles in my glutes and legs hurt for like a day after! i am very hopeful after seeing some of the testimonials. Since i started taking b1 a couple of weeks ago, i noticed night burning sensation in my feet has all but disappeared! I wonder if the triple threat b12 is helping there dramatically. i just pray it' s not placebo effect! I want to get well. I would like to go back to a keto/carnivore 20 carb/day to drop this weight. I have seen that varying the fasting window helps to avoid long plateaus. Any advice you can throw my way i would appreciate! It sucks being such a mess physically!. ...Expand6
