First commercially viable quantum computer close to becoming reality

The world’s first commercially viable quantum computer is one step closer to becoming a reality. Australian Jeremy O' Brien’s startup PsiQuantum has received $611 million in funding from investors to construct the technical marvel. The machine will be able to solve problems millions of times faster than any traditional computer and will work on fields including energy, climate and life sciences. The project is expected to be up and running by the middle of the decade.
