Vermicelli barfi, also called Vermicelli biscuits, সেমাই এর বিস্কুট, Shemai er borfi, shemai er barfi, Vermicelli barfi, সেমাই এর বরফি, Shemai biscuits, are a form of biscuits made out of vermicelli. They are crispy and sweet.
Ingredients:
1. Vermicelli 200 g
2. Ghee 2 tbsp
3. Salt
4. Sugar 1 cup
5. Milk powder 1 cup
6. Water
7. Nuts to garnish.
Procedure:
Cooking:
1. Break the vermicelli into small pieces
2. On a pan, pour some ghee and let it warm up.
3. Pour the vermicelli into the ghee and fry it on low to medium heat for 5-6 minutes
4. Add in the salt.
5. Add the sugar
6. Fry and mix on low to medium heat for 2 minutes
7. Once everything is halfway mixed, add water
8. Stir on low to medium heat for 2-3 minutes
9. Once everything is mixed, add the milk powder.
10. Mix everything on low to medium heat for 4-5 minutes.
Forming method 1:
1. Prepare a cookie cutter with some ghee smeared on the outside.
2. Place the cookie cutter on a flat surface and within it put some of the hot vermicelli we just prepared.
3. Press hard with your fingers to compress them and turn them into a cookie.
4. Slowly take them out of the cookie cutter.
5. Garnish with nuts or raisins of choice
Forming method 2:
1. Place the hot vermicelli on a flat surface and roll them with a rolling pin making sure they are flat
2. Once everything is flat, take out a knife and cut them into squares, rectangles, rhombes, diamonds any shape you like.
3. Garnish with nuts and raisins of choice.
