Simply put, how to record drums on a budget for those of you want to save money, or do not have the money to spend in the first place because you are a bunch of struggling artist. So welcome to this how to get great drum recordings on a budget tutorial! I am Sean better known as Tie Dye Kitty, a recording artist, Producer, Mix Engineer from the Caribbean Islands of Trinidad and Tobago. In this video, I am recording my good friend's EXECUTION MODE a Thrash Metal band. This is the first drum recording in a small room we attempted, it came out pretty well, unfortunately, the band did not have money to even change the drum heads on this borrowed drum kit, and all we had to work with was a few borrowed mics as well. This is what sometimes happens when you are attempting a drum recording at home, you have to work with what you have. This is the finished song ISCARIOT /watch/Me8an7bY8NjYa I will show you how to record drums at home in a small room, a totally untreated room with an 8 channel interface, and a couple microphones. I used my Neumann TLM 103 on the Snare and a Sennheiser MD 421 on the kick drum. On this home recording, I featured a mono ribbon mic as my overhead, and an XY stereo room mic.
