From teaching that children living with disabilities (or who’ve been sexually abused) are being punished for their errors in a previous life to carrots being as dangerous as heroin, Serge Benhayon's teachings may seem incredible, outlandish and dangerous. But to his followers, he is a god-like figure with healing powers. Despite an Australian Court finding that it was true to say his organisation, Universal Medicine, was “a socially harmful cult”, it has continued to attract followers around the world and tear families apart. We hear from Esther Rockett who was taken to court by Universal Medicine and Robin Clifford whose family was destroyed by his ex-wife joining the group. @GettyFan083 years ago The one meal a day thing is a popular tactic for cults. Some even do way less for initiates. Its to keep your calories just high enough to keep you a id="hidden3"live, but low enough to keep you peckish so your mind becomes foggy. This makes you more susceptible to suggestion. ...Expand 1627

@richarddeese19913 years ago Well, clearly this is all bunk, because no aliens have sniffed out that i' ma highly evolved human! D it' s absolutely incredible eager- to believe. To paraphrase the great douglas adams, #39; why can' t you just enjoy the fact that you have a lovely back garden, without having to believe there are fairies living at the bottom of it? #39; i understand magical thinking, at least from a purely psychological perspective. But if it' s magic you want, look around! You' re made of tiny, swirling bits of standing wave energy, locked together intocomplex forms, to create the thinking, feeling creature you are! Go outside at night, look up at the stars, and contemplate that not only did bits of you come from those unimaginable distances, but that you' re literally looking through time to see what you' re seeing! How anyone can be oblivious to such wonders is beyond me. That they could do so while believing complete nonsense instead, drives me right up the wall. I actually feel sorry for people who comprehend so little of the wonder & majesty around them, that they must go looking for weird things to believe in, just to sooth their own souls. That' s terribly sad & unfortunate. Tavi. ...Expand 19
