@cajungirl7811last month I love this way of highlighting. My Mom was a hairdresser & calls it frosting still. I have naturally curly (some ringlets/coils underneath but mostly just curly) dark brown hair & this is how my hairdresser did my hair for years. This blonde color is more ashy than what I had but the effect is the same. Mine was more platinum & we didn't pull through quite so much. Since we kept the look all year it would end up looking like this anyway after a couple of visits. At some point, we had to foil in some dark. I really miss it but I can't sit for the amount of time it takes to do it anymore. I have a ton of hair but it is super fine with major volume. It took hours to pull it through the cap (it left my scalp sore for a couple of days too), then I had to wait so long for the bleach to lighten it enough, then the color & cut. My hairdresser would do a couple of other cuts while I hung out but it was still a full day thing & physically hard on both of us. It looked so good tho especially with the curls. It added a lot of depth versus my dark color. My hairdresser worked out of his house & was totally underappreciated. He was a master at color & is the only hairdresser I've ever had that actually knows how to cut curly hair. I always keep my hair super moisturized, which IMO is the only way to get good curls... for me anyway. Also my guy put something on my hair to help with detangling & such so we never had any problems with breakage. My hair never had breakage tho until I started getting coarse grays. ... 1

No pain, no hair breakage, just lots and lots of evenly distributed highlights.

But people don’t understand that if you do it at home there’s no guarantee that the hair pulled out of the hole is the exact hair underneath that hole. If you don’t part it right before you put the cap on and a professional is not doing it, the hairs that they pull out could be from anywhere. And then you get some highlights that start way down because they came from the wrong part of your head. (But don’t feel bad I only know this from experience 😂) ... 40
