I head down to Haggs Bank bunkhouse and campsite in Cumbria with the guys from Love Big Bike Adventures for the weekend. We planned to ride some green lanes and hopefully some of the Trans Euro Trail (TET). Its only my third time riding properly off road and I'm on a brand new KTM 390 Adventure. @Motoeuro3 years ago Well done boys! We found that hard on the way down, let alone going up! All the best :D 3

@wanderinghonda79632 months ago Brilliant! I know there were a few minor drops but I can’t believe how well you did that hill on one of your first off-road rides. Absolutely epic! That looked tough!

@bluenapalm1233 years ago Trail at approx, is not a beginner slope... you did really well.
Fella helping you sounds like he grew up in Dungannon/Ballymoney and moved to Scotland as a kid..
I found when I went offroading that faster = easier... I found my bravery after 3 days riding.. and found it soo much easier just opening the taps and letting the bike do it's job..
    Glad I didnt come off.
e.g. looks intimidating.. a burst of senseless bravery would have helped me... but again that's easy to say when at home in a comfy chair.. hehe
The other cruel thing I found was that the more inexperienced you are, the more you drop the bike.. the more you drop the bike the more tired you get, the more tired you get the more you drop the bike.... also when going between hard sections, the more experienced riders stop and wait for the rest to catch up. By doing so, they get a big rest, while the exhausted inexperienced riders catch up... the group doesn't stop for a breather for the last few riders, so when the tired riders finally get through a stage they arrive exhausted and enter next stage exhausted. Good to see the other people helping you lift the bike though.

@KayzeeMoto3 years ago Great vid 👍 great scenery and some good riding but that rocky hill is not for beginners 😬 you stuck in there when I would have given up, you were so determined 😂
Glad you are enjoying your 390 (which looks great by the way👌)
I have the same thoughts on the traction control issue, hope they sort something out with that soon too😒
Really enjoyed watching this one, thanks for sharing😀
Looking forward to your next vid 👍

@N1lav3 months ago The MTC on the 23 model remains disabled until the bike is turned off using the Key. Some older ones can get that with a firmware flash. Check with an SVC

@MVDBR3 years ago That feckin traction control! Good video mate those kinda rocks are not the easiest to deal with on an adventure bike. Was worth watching just to listen to that fkn mint accent 😁👌

@Hutchie21123 years ago Looks good. Did you ride down, or throw the bikes in vans? I'm near Dumfries, and I'd hook up for some offroading darn sarf on my T7 with you, although I might also have a 390 adventure by the weekend ;) ;)

@philkeeley88303 years ago Nice scenery them ruff tracks ain't worth the hassle and damage to your bike and yourself, i had a very low speed fall off my Himalayan fell on me my ankle and broke it, now i have continuous pain making it hard to change gear, and standing on the pegs is a no it is so easy to get hurt so take care no shame in saying no i wish i did ☹ ...

@laminasglassdynamics38933 years ago iv heard that if you turn the mtc off and dont change the screen settings, it will stay off , even if you stall it.
  • @
@4philip23 years ago Would the himalayan have been a better bet?

@sdefiel37193 years ago Wow, that looked <a-hem> like <uhhh> a lot of <cough-cough> fun, yeah? I question whether you lot were ready for that hill, but your sensei was giving you some good advice. Try that hill on your second or third or fourth day maybe? Seriously, it's a good challenge. Next time walk your own bike up the hill. ;)
    Fantastic and dramatic learning vid.
    Thanks so much,

@jonasbaine35383 years ago I don't think any adv bike will excel in those loose rocks.

@davidcolinfisher10346 months ago These riders have no business riding this type trail crashing and falling down all the time...its a clown show...much like many other ADV rider videos out there...crash crash, drop drop, helicopter rescue etc etc.
