You've never been a man and inherently cannot know what it's like to date as a man.
Here's an analogy to put it into perspective, based on what she said:
Dating as a woman is like going to a restaurant where all the items on the menu are free, and the more attractive you are the larger the menu you have to choose from. You can have anything on the menu but you won't know how good or bad it is until you try it. Yes, some time will be wasted.
Dating as a man is like going to a restaurant where you're more likely to get a table if you're attractive. If you're less attractive, most restaurants won't even let you sit down. Then when you finally sit down the menu is limited, sometimes maybe only having one option, and it's very expensive. You're expected to pay upfront, and the meal is also not even guaranteed to be served. Some restaurants admit that the only reason they seat some customers is because they needed the money. Then, much like the women, you may find out you didn't really enjoy the meal, wasting usually much more time, AND wasting resources.
